FSHN – 2015 Holiday Fashion Issue

As we draw into the holiday season we tend to think of how to make others happy, by surprising them with a new recipe for a gathering, a creative present for your loved ones, employees and pets, and giving back to the less fortunate ones too.

The simplicity of joy to see a smile becomes the holiday mood. This is when we reach into the ornate to bring our mood up to the occasion. If you ever felt like wearing jewelry, now is the time. If you ever felt like wearing bold colors, now is the time. Warm rich fabrics with texture are particularly perfect for the chilly weather. They set the mood of ‘cozy’ in our mind and make staying indoors welcomed.

Much Love,
Elisabeth Thieriot

FSHN – 2015 Fall Fashion Issue

When orange is everywhere you know it must be October. That is how nature brings us into Autumn, with color changing leaves and a new, rich harvest of vegtables and Beaujolais wine to pair with them. What a special time of the year to create family gatherings around freshly cooked meals, while setting the ambiance and your wardrobe to comfortably stay indoors. October is a very important month to change closets for warmer, richer fabrics and colors. It is the time to bring cashmeres, wools and leathers as silks overlayer. I find it necessary to always have clothes that allowfiill movement without restriction that is how they become your favorites. Scarves and gloves are the perfect accessory for October, don’t leave the house without them.

This month we are also the first to feature the Winkk app that allows you to digitally bring the pages of FSHN to life. Now you can download the free app to your device, snap a picture of any image that has been enabled with the Winkk code and instantly view exclusive, behind the scenes photos and videos of your favorite stories, along with direct links to purchase the objects you desire, plus some very special offers. With Winkk we are bringing the power of the Internet to the experience of holding a magazine.

FSHN – 2015 Pre Fall Issue

September is my favorite month of the year. I can still experience the full glow of the sun on my skin. I can still continue to swim in warm water yet the light shifts into the autumn shade, which psychologically shifts us into work, school and highest productivity month. For most of us, it is a welcomed change after months long relaxation. This brings us to the closet for September transitional wardrobe; matches between silks and leather as a perfect combination of summer and autumn. I find that white silk shirts against summer skin layered with leather to break the autumn wind are most practical and elegant for the month of September. Use September as a trendsetter month for the work place through our wardrobe. The blending of summer relaxation with the beginning of autumn career plans, reflects our level of motivation for life and all that it brings with it. Remember September is the most creative month of the year. This is the month you implement all your new energy, knowledge, and perspective into your work ethic and creativity.

Much love,

FSHN – 2015 SUMMER FASHION ISSUE

In the midst of cold winter we long for summer in full bloom.

The time to heal and recharge has arrived. I suggest we spend more time outside absorbing the powerful summer light and breathing fresh air into our system.

Long summer days call for comfortable, airy attire. Finding fabrics with looser weave and softer thread give ease to our sun-kissed skin while light colors reflect the sun to keep us cool throughout the day. After a long winter, our feet are happy to see very little of shoes. The best choices are open-toed shoes with soft straps, which protect our feet as they begin to swell in the summer heat. A pair of flats is another fashionable option that gives our spine a rest from high heals.

Comfort, relaxation and balance between physical and mental activities are key to fully benefiting from the summer months. Arm yourself with a soft, washable summer wardrobe that is easty to take with you on new adventures.

We have many exciting summer essentials that will help you expand your horizons this season!

Much love,
Elisabeth Thieriot

FSHN – 2015 TRANSITION ISSUE

Here we are in the height of spring which is the season of transition. Transition is always the one generating fear, avoided, postponed and full of uncertainty. This is why I want to dedicate this issue to what change means to us and what opportunity it brings along the side.

It can be looked at as having positive side effects after the pleasantries of going through change.

The ability to adapt and have an open mind will create new skills and new adventures. Simply begin your transitional wardrobe by combining winter and summer fabrics. You can also play with layering pieces of opposite textures, such as silk paired with leather or cotton as a base layer for wool. Next, slowly introduce lighter color pallets as the season progresses. Remember when transitioning from one season to the next layering is crucial.

Now you have your spring wardrobe to enjoy!

Challenge yourself to create new pairings for your closet every day. Learn new words, find new hobbies or pick a sport that you will enjoy during long summer days with your favorite people.

These daily changes will create new and richer experiences for the season. I love the spring challenge of excelling in life.

Much love,
Elisabeth Thieriot

FSHN – 2015 SPRING FASHION

April is here and it means spring is in the air with its vivid colors and blossom scents. This a great time to enjoy the longer days that bring us outdoors. Perfect time to be motivated to get fit and feel beautiful. This can be achieved by creating a super athletic closet. Often, starting from the outside will help keep the motivation to reach fitness goals. Wearing brighter and more vibrant colors brings on a happy attitude too.

Match the spring natural flower tones and you will be just right with your mood of nature and that will keep you moving. There is no better way than to follow your intuition regarding spring cleaning: get rid of things from your life that are heavy and weigh on you. It just may make you a lighter, fitter, and freer person.

Spring is about detox and a new start. Make this a time of reflection and a new life foundation. We get this chance every spring and it should not be wasted.

See the value of timing and new opportunity

Much love,
Elisabeth Thieriot

FSHN – 2015 WEDDING ISSUE

The month of love is one we always look forward to. Love comes in many shades: self-love, romantic love for our partner, love for our children and family, platonic love for our friends, and love for animals that give us pure, unconditional love, regardless of our character or mood.

There are many objects we’d love to have, and many we’ve already acquired, simply because we loved them.

I see the month of February as a time to appreciate what love we have around us a time to give and express love to those dear to our hearts. Create a bucket list of things you love and want to have in your lift. Focus on your heart and the hearts of others. Make this time count by saying these simple but meaningful words often: “I love you.”

Much love,
Elisabeth Thieriot
