PORTOLA MUSIC FESTIVAL RETURNS TO PIER 80 FOR ANOTHER MASSIVE WEEKEND OF ELECTRONIC MUSIC

San Francisco is getting ready to dance again. On September 26 and 27, 2026, Goldenvoice will once again transform Pier 80’s massive industrial landscape into one of the country’s most exciting electronic music destinations as Portola Music Festival returns for its fifth year. And if this year’s lineup is any indication, Portola is gearing up for another unforgettable weekend of massive sound, legendary artists, cutting-edge electronic music, and unexpected performances over two days of nonstop action.

Star-Studded Saturday and Sunday Headliners

Swedish pop superstar Robyn leads Saturday’s festivities with her only scheduled festival appearance in 2026, following the release of her latest album, Sexistential. The day will also feature a rare return by DOG BLOOD, the celebrated collaboration between Skrillex and Boys Noize. The duo’s appearance marks the project’s first performance since 2019 and its only scheduled show this year.

Sunday brings another heavyweight lineup, headlined by Swedish House Mafia. The iconic trio is scheduled for only two U.S. festival performances in 2026, making their Portola appearance especially significant. Fellow Swedish star Zara Larsson will also bring her Midnight Sun era to San Francisco.

Electronic Pioneers and the Iconic DESPACIO Sound System

As always, Portola’s appeal extends far beyond its headliners. The festival has built its reputation by uniting electronic music pioneers, global superstars, underground innovators, and artists pushing the sound forward. Four Tet returns as a festival favorite, while dance music icon Tiësto prepares to deliver one of his signature productions at the Warehouse. DESPACIO, the extraordinary high-powered sound system and immersive musical experience created by James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem, David and Stephen Dewaele of 2manydjs and Soulwax, and legendary sound engineer John Klett, will once again bring its one-of-a-kind sonic experience to Pier 80.

The festival’s sprawling lineup also spans generations of electronic and dance music. Mike D of the Beastie Boys will bring his new Mike D 5D project for one of its few performances this year. Ben UFO, Groove Armada, Fatboy Slim, Daphni, and Overmono will add even more variety to a weekend built around the many sounds and styles that have shaped global dance floors.

Diverse Live Sets and Bay Area Underground Roots

Live performances remain an essential part of the Portola experience, with Skepta, Parcels, Ninajirachi, Kelela, Channel Tres, SG Lewis (Live), ADÉLA, Fcukers, and Six Sex all set to perform. In one of the festival’s most unexpected bookings, Melanie C of the Spice Girls will also perform a special DJ set. The lineup also features a deep roster of emerging electronic artists, including KETTAMA, horsegiirL, Marlon Hoffstadt, Mochakk, Prospa, Beltran b2b Ben Sterling, Chloé Caillet, Max Styler, and Dean Turnley.

Portola has never forgotten its Bay Area roots, and the 2026 lineup continues that tradition. Hometown legend DJ Shadow will celebrate the 30th anniversary of his groundbreaking album Endtroducing….. at the festival. He’ll be joined by genre-bending artist underscores, along with local favorites erika b2b sfcowboy and Program Audio, spotlighting the Bay Area’s thriving underground dance scene.

Over the past five years, Portola has established itself as one of the country’s most distinctive electronic music festivals. Its secret sauce is a blend of internationally recognized artists, forward-thinking talent, massive sound, and the raw industrial atmosphere of Pier 80. Goldenvoice has also continued to expand its presence throughout San Francisco, with venues including The Regency Ballroom, The Warfield, Frost Amphitheater, and its recently launched nightlife initiative, Club Darc.
