Aftershock Festival is back for another year of pure mayhem and music, and the 2026 edition is shaping up to be one of the most explosive yet. Organizers have officially revealed the full lineup featuring more than 140 bands, set to take over Discovery Park in Sacramento, California, across four thunderous days from October 1 through October 4.
Known as the West Coast’s largest rock and metal gathering, Aftershock has built a reputation for delivering crushing lineups and unforgettable live performances. This year’s event raises the bar once again with a massive roster of artists spanning metal, punk, emo, nu-metal, hard rock, and alternative.
Headlining each night of the festival will be some of the most iconic and influential names in modern rock. My Chemical Romance will ignite the weekend on Thursday, followed by Limp Bizkit on Friday. Pierce the Veil takes over Saturday night in a highly anticipated headlining debut, while legendary progressive metal giants Tool will close the festival on Sunday. To accommodate the growing demand and an ever-expanding lineup, the festival grounds at Discovery Park have been expanded this year, introducing a fifth stage and allowing even more artists to join the bill.
Beyond the headliners, the 2026 lineup is stacked with powerhouse performances from some of the most respected names in rock and metal. Fans can expect explosive sets from Queens of the Stone Age, A Day to Remember, Sublime, The Pretty Reckless, Coheed and Cambria, Killswitch Engage, The Offspring, and BABYMETAL, along with dozens of additional acts spanning every corner of the heavy music spectrum.
Festival organizers have also teased a special mystery guest, set to be announced closer to the event. Friday night promises a genre-blending collision of hip-hop, metal, and alternative culture as Limp Bizkit tops a bill that includes Wu-Tang Clan, Public Enemy, Cypress Hill, $UICIDEBOY$, Insane Clown Posse, Slaughter to Prevail, Dethklok, and Underoath, among many others. The day captures the rebellious spirit and crossover energy that has always defined Aftershock.
Saturday shifts the focus toward modern rock and emo as Pierce the Veil headlines a stacked lineup featuring BABYMETAL, A Day to Remember, Black Label Society, Sleeping with Sirens, Down, Circa Survive, The Ghost Inside, and the legendary Melvins. The night is expected to deliver a powerful mix of heavy riffs, emotional intensity, and high-energy performances.
The festival will close on Sunday with a monumental finale led by Tool, one of the most influential and respected bands in heavy music history. Before their headline performance, fans will witness an incredible lineup including Danny Elfman, Queens of the Stone Age,
AFI, Zakk Sabbath, Stone Temple Pilots, Body Count, and Suicidal Tendencies, creating a powerful closing chapter to the weekend.
Danny Wimmer, founder of Danny Wimmer Presents, shared his excitement about this year’s lineup in an official statement: “This year’s Aftershock marks a bold new chapter for the festival. We’ve brought together metal, punk, emo, and nu-metal to create a lineup that’s raw, youthful, and unapologetic. With Tool anchoring the weekend and Pierce the Veil making their headlining debut, we’re breaking boundaries and redefining what Aftershock can be.”
Beyond the music, Aftershock continues to expand the full festival experience with food vendors, art installations, fan activations, and immersive experiences that make the event one of the most anticipated gatherings in the rock world each year. Fans will also have new options when it comes to staying close to the action. For the first time ever, festivalgoers can camp during the weekend at nearby Cal Expo, with both RV and tent camping available for those looking to fully immerse themselves in the four-day experience.

Passes for Aftershock 2026 are available now through the festival’s official website, including single-day tickets and full four-day passes, along with VIP upgrades for fans looking to take their festival experience to the next level.
With more bands than ever before, expanded grounds, and an absolutely stacked lineup,
Aftershock 2026 is shaping up to be one of the loudest and most unforgettable editions in the festival’s history. For rock and metal fans across the country, Sacramento will once again become the epicenter of heavy music this fall.
