San Francisco – The holiday spirit is taking center stage once again as the A.C.T. Young Conservatory invites audiences to celebrate the magic of the season with not one, but two beloved Christmas classics. From December 18–20, the Strand Theater will transform into a festive winter wonderland for Rudolph and Scrooge: A YC Holiday Double Feature, a joyful family-friendly production that captures the heart and warmth of the holidays.
This year’s event promises double the cheer with two timeless tales performed by some of the Bay Area’s most talented young actors. The Fall Junior Actors Ensemble (grades 3–6) kicks off Act One with Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Jr., the beloved stage adaptation of the iconic animated TV special that has lit up hearts for generations. Expect music, laughter, and plenty of red-nosed charm as Rudolph and friends remind us that our differences can be our greatest strengths.
Act Two shifts’ gears into the classic world of Dickens with A Christmas Carol Project, brought to life by the Middle School Actors Ensemble (grades 6–9). This imaginative collection of scenes and songs, inspired by various adaptations of the legendary tale, reawakens the spirit of redemption, generosity, and hope that defines the season. Through Scrooge’s journey from miserly isolation to heartfelt transformation, audiences are reminded of the power of compassion and community.
Together, these two productions embody everything the holidays stand for, kindness, connection, and the courage to believe in magic again. With vibrant performances, heartfelt storytelling, and the infectious energy of A.C.T.’s next generation of performers, this double feature is a perfect holiday outing for families, friends, and theater lovers of all ages.
So, grab your loved ones, sip some cocoa, and step into the warmth of the A.C.T. Young Conservatory’s holiday celebration. Whether you’re cheering for Rudolph or finding your spirit renewed through Scrooge, you’ll leave with your heart glowing just a little brighter.
